Bad Lineage is an independent literary magazine publishing poetry, fiction, essays, interviews, and visual art. It’s a small operation that publishes every issue both online and in print, with new issues coming out once or twice a year. Created in 2025 in Las Vegas, Bad Lineage is currently based in Cincinnati. The journal’s logo comes from Pieter Bruegel the Elder’s 12 Proverbs. Beneath the logo’s image in the original artwork, Bruegel has written: “Whatever I do is in vain. I piss on the moon.”
