About

Bad Lineage is an independent journal created in 2025 by a poetry student and a computer programmer. We enjoy poking fun at the notion of literary heritage. Bad Lineage is published three times a year in print and online. Our logo comes from Pieter Bruegel the Elder’s 1558 12 Proverbs. Beneath the logo’s image in the original work, Bruegel has written, “Whatever I do is in vain. I piss on the moon.”
